I live in Kailua, and you are spot on with this story on Lanikai Beach. Both Kailua and Lanikai beach have pristine aqua blue water, and fine white sand not found in other beaches on the north shore, or Waikiki. Fun activities are kayaking, snorkeling, canoe surfing, SUP (stand up paddling), kite sailing, and surfing. Surfing for beginners at Flat Island and for advanced surfers, out at the reef or near the Mokulua Islands. A “must stop at” before or after the beach is the local’s hang out Island Snow. This shop has the best shave ice on the island, and also has cool surf wear , shades, etc from all the best brands (President Obama’s hang out when he’s back home).
