By The Associated PressKAILUA-KONA, Hawaii – A luxury real estate auction company reports that Cher’s Hawaii home overlooking the Pacific Ocean has been sold to an Arizona buyer for US $8.7 million.

Concierge Auctions said Thursday that the home was one of five Big Island residences auctioned Monday for a total of $19.4 million.

The firm had estimated Cher’s one-third-hectare property was worth between $8 million and $12 million.

Located in the Hualalai Resort, the 800-square-metre Balinese style residence features a gated centre courtyard leading to the main residence. It includes a master wing, great room, kitchen, dining room, outdoor living area, and infinity pool with spa overlooking the resort’s golf course. A website set up for the sale says the residence designed by Cher has six bedrooms.

Kam II, the middle beach, is longer than Kam III and usually narrower. The sand will often be steep in the winter, tossed up by storms and tides. After a very heavy storm, enough sand may be washed out to sea to leave very little beach at high tide.

At the north end of Kam II, climb up the rock and concrete trail to the grass in front of two ocean-front resorts. Although signs block entrance to the resorts, state law prohibits the closing of beach access anywhere in the islands, and you are legally welcome to walk along the grass at the edge of the water.

This grassy area between Kam II and Kam I is one of the best places on Maui for finding turtles. Stop for a bit and watch close to the rocks at the base of the cliff, and you’re likely to see a curious head popping up looking back at you. At the north end of the headland, another trail takes you down to Kam I.

Kam I is twice as long as Kam II—a perfect sandy crescent about half a mile long. At the north end, there are usually some early morning swimmers; at some times of the year there can be a sharp drop-off at high tide.

At a brisk pace, it takes about twenty minutes to walk from Kamaole Sands to the north end of Kam I. If you started early enough, you’ll be back at Kamaole Sands, or wherever you’re staying, before the sun gets high and hot. If it’s later in the day, take your time and go for a swim whenever you want to cool off.

More walking awaits you as you head south from Kamaole Sands. From Kam III there’s a trail that mostly follows the water and goes as far as the resorts of Wailea. This walk can take two hours and involves a short stretch of road-walking; “slippers” are definitely required. Walk to Wailea, swim, have lunch there, and walk back—a lovely way to spend a day on Maui. M
1000
y favorite thing about staying at Kamaole Sands is the pleasure of beach walking, right from the front door of my condo.

If walking is not your thing consider a cruise.
There are plenty of reasons why you should take a cruise. If you are like most people, you will enjoy getting away from it all. A cruise will allow you to do just that. In fact, you do not have to worry about getting to all the places you want to visit in time. There is no rushing around. There are plenty of reasons to use cruise travel as your main way to spend your vacation.

Here are some reasons why you may want to consider this type of vacation.

**It is affordable. There are plenty of deals happening each and every day, virtually all times of the year. You can find a wide range of discounts available in the off seasons, but there are plenty to go around any time of the year. Most of the time, you will spend less on a cruise than you will on a big vacation.

**There is plenty to see. When you take a cruise, you can travel to a wide range of places around the world. You can experience a wide range of different cultures. There is also plenty for you to experience on the actual ship as well.

**You can meet lots of new people. A cruise is a great place to meet a wide range of people. You do not even need to get off the ship to do so either. There are many people that are ready and waiting for you to meet them. You can meet people your own age or meet someone with the same interest.

**You can do new things. On the ship and off, there are many things that you can do to enjoy the time that you have. You can learn to rock climb or go scuba diving. You can learn to water ski or go fishing in the ocean. There is no limit to the options that you have.

Cruise travel has many rewards to offer those that are looking for something a little more relaxed or something that is a bit different. Check out the various options that are available because not only can you do the things that you would like to do, but you can find a wide range of options to choose from to fit your needs and lifestyle.

If you are worried about what there is to do on your cruise ship, you may not have anything to worry about at all. Unlike your long flight on an airplane to your destination, you are going to find many things to do on your ship.

In fact, some say that the best part of their vacation is the ship itself and not the destination at all. One thing is for sure. If you book a great cruise, you will enjoy all the relaxation that you can get.

There are plenty of things to keep you busy on board the ship. If you are looking for something to do, consider the options that are available to you.

The rarely crowded and quiet Waialae Beach Park is one of the most sought wedding locations in Oahu. This narrow, golden sand beach located along Kahala Avenue on the shores of Oahu is fronted by a grassy lawn with palm, giant banyan, and hau trees. In the distance, the Koolau Mountains provide a magnificent backdrop while on one side of the beach a peninsula juts out into the ocean, leading to a lush green island.

Also known as Kahala Beach, Waialae Beach Park is conveniently located next to a resort and a golf club in South Shore Oahu. A river runs in the middle of the park and flows right into the ocean while a bridge arches over the channel, connecting the two sections of the park. This free public beach has pavilions and picnic tables, which make it excellent for picnicking. In fact, Waialae Beach Park is frequented more for picnicking than for swimming. The narrow and long sanded Waialae Beach has a shallow offshore reef. The beach makes poor swimming but water is clear enough for snorkeling. Offshore breaks provide fair surfing conditions.

On the other hand, wind and Waialea Beach make it great for kite surfing. Kayaking is another popular activity here.

Services and amenities: no lifeguards, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, pavilions, parking

5 Unique Things about Waialae Beach Park

The Waialae Stream cuts across the beach park, and runs right into the ocean.

The island at the east end of the beach is man-made.

The beach is consists of two sections connected together by a white stone bridge.

The Razors surfing site is located near the reef channel (created where the stream meets the ocean).

Waialae Beach Park provides a view of the Koolau Mountains.

Book your Hawaii hotel and come to enjoy Waialae Beach Park and other Oahu beaches.
